The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a car crash that killed one on the morning of Marth 7th.

At 4:16 am, a 2017 box truck and a 1996 Mazda 626 were traveling west on I20 at mile marker 13. The Mazda was struck from behind by the box truck and then the truck ran over the Mazda while they were slowing down for traffic. The Mazda then spun into the roadway and the driver was ejected from the vehicle. The driver of the Mazda was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Aiken County Coroner Darryle Ables.

At this time the car accident is under investigation Highway Patrol with the assistance of the multi-interdisciplinary accident investigation team. 

The drivers of the vehicles have been identified as Beverly Ann Lloyd of Hopkins, as the driver of the Mazda, and Safii Dew of Covington, Georgia, as the driver of the truck.
