Fatal Accident Involving a City Bus

A pedestrian is dead after an accident with an Augusta Transit city bus. 

The victim, 59-year old Stewart Douglas Pettus, was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:10 p.m by the Richmond County Coroner’s Office.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office reported that the accident involved August Augusta Transit City Bus #1606 on the 3200 block of Wrightsboro Road.
